The Latino After-School Initiative (LASI)
The Latino After-School Initiative (LASI) endeavors to create model after-school programs that identify youths’ skill strengths and learning styles, and build these skills through academic and vocational programming to stem poverty, school drop out rates, violence and hopelessness in the local Latino community. Youth will achieve mastery in a range of skills, improve overall academic achievement and significantly more will graduate from high school - qualified for life-long employment.

Hyde Square Task Force

Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción
Puerto Rican community activists stared down Boston’s urban renewal bulldozers and began a long organizing campaign to gain control over the development of their South End neighborhood,“ Parcel 19.” Forming Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción (IBA—“Puerto Rican Renters in Action”), they developed Villa Victoria, a 435-unit, 1,100-resident, affordable-housing community—a turning point in Boston’s history of affordable housing, civil rights and community organizing.

Casa Nueva Vida
Continues to be the only homeless shelter in Massachusetts with a completely bilingual staff, making us uniquely capable of providing a focused specialized package of services and programs to single Latina mothers and their children. Casa Nueva Vida’s mission is not solely based on providing safe, permanent and affordable housing for our homeless mothers and their at-risk children, but it also seeks to empower our residents to become independent of all forms of public assistance. All of our programs were created on the basis of the needs expressed by surrounding community members and shelter residents with the goal of accomplishing self-sufficiency.

Latin American Health Institute
LHI reaches healthcare professionals, para-professionals, and institutions through education, technical assistance, fiscal sponsorship, program oversight, and consulting services.
