JUAN LUIS GUERRA

The Juan Luis Guerra Foundation
image “The Juan Luis Guerra Foundation was created in 1991 under the name “"440 Foundation"” with the intention to join forces and resources in helping the people in need from Juan Luis Guerra’s native Dominican Republic.
This non-profit organization focused its work in the health, sports and educational areas. Due to the temporal retirement of its mentor, Mr. Juan Luis Guerra, this institution stopped its activities until 1999 when it was reincorporated, this time with the name “The Juan Luis Guerra Foundation”. Nowadays, under the direction of Mr. Guerra, the organization continues with the goal of helping young children, disadvantaged people, and all people really in need, even working together with other non-profit organizations or independent people that work toward the same objective of the organization.”

DADDY YANKEE

The Corazon Guerrero Foundation
image This is a new program that helps young men getting close to being released from prison. We prepare them through workshops and seminars so they get jobs once they get out. The foundation is [only] in Puerto Rico, but I’ve already received a lot of interest from other countries. We continue to move forward with this and the sky is the limit. If I get a call from the moon, we’ll take the foundation to the moon! I have a lot of friends who are currently in this situation and I’ve vowed to help them get out of this vicious cycle [of being in and out of prison].
